Poem By Harula Ladd
Up the mountain, close to the sky, almost as if you could reach up
and touch the universe, the world drew an unexpected curtain,
as if night had tripped and fallen on the brightness of day,
and life was changed irrevocably. Ripples of grief
began their vibrations, beyond and beyond.
From my mother heart to yours, I offer my own ripples
of compassion in the face of your unimaginable loss,
losing one who, so full of light and life, had so much more to give.
And as the shock takes hold, I offer only the gentle embrace
of love from that untouchable beyond, not to make sense
of the un-understanabdle, only to give the grief
a container of sorts, to keep it safe, let it be, know its fire
will burn, but it is held, by all those
who hold you with love.
